I really thought I was in decent shape...until I went up the stairs at Thousand Steps beach ONE time. My legs were shaky and my heart pounding. After 3 more trips, I was afraid my legs would give out and I would keel over in front of all the professional athletes handling the stairs with ease. If you want a tough, non-impact workout, check out these stairs at PCH and 9th St. P.S. There really isn't 1000 steps, but it feels like it!

It's summer and that means it's trolley time! Free public transportation in fun, open-air trolleys. Hop on, meet new people, and check out different parts of Laguna Beach.
I LOVE live music. Even more when I can sit up close, surrounded by incredible art exhibits like at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach. If you have a ticket to the Pageant (even if it is in August), you can get in free all summer long.
This bronze, wood and steel piece from Andrew Myers is called "Life's Deconstruction Phase #5". Go to The Festival of the Arts in Laguna Beach to see this and so many other talented artists' works. While you are there, have a cocktail, make your own art at the craft zone, and listen to world class live music.
Add the 4th of July parade and paddle out to the list of fun activities organized by the Brooks St. locals. This paddle out is for a former resident who died in Iraq. Fourth of July + Halloween + the annual surf contest = a happening street!
