 Just up the street from Woods Cove is the home of local icon, Doug Miller. If he is not at the Sawdust, or playing his violin at some gig, or photographing some local event, you will find him here painting. If he is not painting, he is uploading decades of his pictures for all of us to enjoy on Facebook.
 You will walk by the Heckel Greenbelt Preserve on my Fitness Walk. It is land bought from money former board member, Betty Heckel, gave to lagunagreenbelt.org upon her death. One stipulation for this land is that no goats are allowed to grace on it.  The 13th annual Tour d'Orange drove through Laguna Beach last weekend. Over 500 cars of all makes and models paraded by while pedestrians encouraged them to squeal their tires.
 Things to do in Laguna Beach: explore the tide pools! You can see hermit crabs, sea anemone, California mussels, and purple sea urchins. To protect our fragile ecosystem, watch where you step and the law prohibits any taking from the tide pools. Enjoy these amazing creatures in their natural habitat.
 While watching my daughter play in a chilly beach volleyball tournament yesterday, one of the other parents was making lattes for the adults and hot chocolates with marshmallows for the kids. Brilliant!!!
