This is my favorite picture from 2013. It is from the 4th of July paddle out at Brooks St. for an Iraqi vet who died in combat. Happy New Year from Laguna Beach Walks!

I have a challenge for you in 2014: Visit every beach in Laguna. Each one has it's own personality and character. This is Wood's Cove at Diamond St. Here is the best list I could find (random order)...please let me know there is a beach missing from my list. Also, some of these beaches are in gated communities, so you may have to SUP or kayak it there.
Today while I was reflecting on this last year and looking forward to this coming year, I came across a quote from Wyland, a world-renowned marine artist in Laguna Beach: "There are two types of people - anchors and motors. You want to lose the anchors and get with the motors because the motors are going somewhere and they're having more fun. The anchors will just drag you down." I was hanging with a bunch of motors the other night at The Wine Gallery!
Flashback Friday! Remember the Laguna Beach Classic 1K, 5K and 10K run? Can we bring it back, please?!?!?
One of our favorite traditions is going to Christmas Eve service at Laguna Presbyterian church. After the service, everyone lights a candle, gathers around the manger in the rose garden, and sings "Silent Night". Merry Christmas from LagunaBeachWalks.com!

Who gets the Orange County Register? Did you see Laguna Beach Walks on the 2nd page of the front section today? Woo Hoo!
My hubby took a few of us ladies out to the new Selanne Steak Tavern last night. The bar was going off, the food delish, service top notch and they did a great job on the décor. This restaurant will be staying in town for a long time!
Did you know it is a requirement of the City of Laguna Beach Municipal Code for any commercial development valued over $225,000 to install art work to the value of 1% of the project? This piece from Jerry Rothman is on our Heisler Park/Downtown Tour. Love the red hot pokers growing up all around it!
