Back in 1871, George and Sarah Thurston homesteaded on what now is Aliso Creek Golf Course. For more information on Laguna's homestead era from 1870-1900, read Skip Hellewell's book, "Loving Laguna".
Laguna Beach is known for our artists, surfers, conservationists, and Laguna “characters.” There are many brightly-painted, artist-designed meters in town to put in your extra coins. The money goes to our local "characters" who make up our unique town.
