Flashback Friday! Remember 2004 when "Laguna Beach, The Real Orange County" aired on MTV? We still hear about two of the original cast members. Lauren Conrad was recently on the cover of US Magazine talking about her upcoming wedding. Kristin Cavallari was on Dancing with the Stars in 2011 and currently has a show on the E! channel.
Just like the "Hollywood" sign, Laguna Beach has our own big, giant "L" on the hillside. To see it, you have to be on the visitor's side of the high school football field.
Is this Alfred Hitchcock's house? No just awesome birds decorating this Laguna Beach home.5/27/2014 Walking around Laguna Beach is like a never ending discovery of uniqueness. This house looks like it belongs to Alfred Hitchcock when he was making, "The Birds". Thank you Laguna Beach residents for making my walks interesting and fun. Join me for a Fitness Walk from 7am-8am. Purchase tickets at: www.LagunaBeachWalks.com.
General Manager, Bob Lively, does it all. He sells the movie tickets in the booth, then hurries over to sell the popcorn, then hustles to start the movie. He has worked at the Laguna Beach theatre for 12 years. This one man show is entertainment in itself. Thanks Bob!
Every time I go on a walk, I'm amazed at all there is to see around Laguna Beach. Just in this one picture, you can see Marlo Bartels "Chess and Checkers" public art, our iconic Lifeguard Tower landmark, beach volleyball courts, the Pacific Ocean, and of course palm trees. Come on one of my walking tours to see all this and more. www.LagunaBeachWalks.com
Flashback Friday! Laguna Beach High School has a long tradition in volleyball excellence. Dusty Dvorack, LBHS graduate, was a member of the American Men's National Team that won the gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Scott Fortune, another LBHS graduate, was an All-American at Stanford and a three-time Olympian winning gold at the 1988 Summer Olympics. The current LBHS volleyball team is gearing up for the final CIF championship game this Saturday against Esperanza. Go Beach!
A few years back, I would go to The Deck in Laguna Beach and listen to Kevin Miso play. His music is a mix between Jack Johnson and Donavon Frankenreiter. He just released his new summer single, "Zombie" on iTunes. You can't see him at The Deck any longer, but he is playing The Belly Up in San Diego on July 17th.
If you want to get your exercise on at one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Main Beach in Laguna has newly renovated basketball courts and perfectly groomed volleyball courts. If walking is more your type of exercise, come on one of my fun, two hour walking tours. Go to www.LagunaBeachWalks.com to purchase tickets.
