The Deck restaurant has a killer view with live music Monday - Thursday from 5-9pm. Come on my HIP District Tour tonight, and we will pop our heads into this place to check out the scene. Walk with me from 5-7pm, learn about Laguna Beach, and get your exercise on. Tickets still available at www.LagunaBeachWalks.com.

Have you ever dreamed about getting married in Laguna Beach, somewhere overlooking the Pacific Ocean, but thought it would be too expensive? You can get a wedding permit for the Gazebo in Heisler Park for only $255! For more information, go to www.lagunabeachcity.net.
Ok folks, here is your schedule for later this week:
Wednesday - My HIP District tour 5-7pm (go to my website to purchase tickets) Thursday - First Thursdays Art Walk 6-9pm Friday - Sunset Serenades at Heisler Park - 6:30pm til sunset (FREE! bring your wine, cheese/crackers and a blanket) Saturday - Zero Trash 1st Saturday Community Clean Up 10am - meet at El Ranchito to grab your picker and let's make Laguna Beach spotless! Saturday night ... Any suggestions? Thanks and see you around town! Very rarely do I ever see the iconic Laguna Beach Lifeguard Tower open. The yellow flag was flying which means increased surf and/or rip currents. Swim with caution.
Time for the happy dance ... our "Window to the Sea" is back open! The two unsightly portable buildings at Main Beach are now gone after a year and a half and sod laid. Next on the agenda is to get the portable bathroom building out and the lifeguard headquarters finished and open. So close!
Flashback Friday! This is from the 1988 Laguna Beach High School yearbook. Water polo team picture! I don't think they would allow this picture in today but I think it's awesome! Go Artists!
The goddess of St. Ann's is looking for waves! She is to the right as you are descending the stairs. St. Ann's beach is south of Main Beach and is a popular surf spot. Be careful of rip tides in this area and if you get caught in one, swim parallel to the shore to get out of it. We stroll by St. Ann's beach on my HIP District tour (above the beach, we don't get in the sand).
Have you ever been to Jahraus Park in Laguna Beach? If you come on my Heisler Park / Downtown tour you will see it. "Deer Warrior" is there looking a little scary or protective? "Boy and Dog" is there with a drinking fountain in the back for the boy and one in the front for the dog. Mr. Jahraus is famous for saving Heisler Park from development. When you do something like that, you get your own park!
My teens. Was architecture on MTV? No? Then I didn’t care.
My twenties. Can architecture find me a hot date? No? Then I didn’t care. My thirties. Can architecture get my kids to sleep through the night? No? Then I didn’t care. My forties…I’m obsessed with architecture! Check out my new blog about Laguna Beach architecture on LagunaBeach.com! http://lagunabeach.com/aroundtown/the-history-of-laguna-beach-told-through-architecture/ Every Sunday at 9am in Heisler Park, I see a group doing Qigong. This is a practice aligning body, breath, mind for health, meditation, and martial arts training. It says it can help wide range of medical conditions including hypertension, pain, and cancer. Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan were followers of this practice.
