Happy Easter from Diver's Cove! I forgot to ask this diver what the heck he is going to do with those plastic eggs??? Is he going to hide them for the other divers to find? If anyone knows, please tell me.

This morning I was jogging by the lifeguard tower and saw the 2013 crew of lifeguards assembled for some training. Thanks for keeping us safe! Just as a reminder, here is what the flag colors mean: Green - generally safe conditions. Yellow - increased surf or rip currents present, use caution. Red - strong surf or rip currents present, only strong swimmers with fins.
This is a group from China on one of my tours, visiting the Wyland Gallery. Did you know Wyland was the official USA artist for the 2008 Olympics? Wyland painted his 100th whaling wall, "Hands Across the Ocean" in Beijing, China, to celebrate the Green Olympics. His very first whaling wall was done in 1981 and it is the one you see at his Laguna Beach gallery.
This is a cute, secret path we go through to get to PCH on my Hip District Tour. Hope to see you on one of my tours soon!
Another great event hosted at LCAD by the Friends of Laguna Architecture last night. Thank you Sean McCracken for putting this together! We learned about the mid-century architecture in Palm Springs, highlighted by the film "Desert Utopia". Check out the film's trailer on YouTube. The music just takes you back to the 50s and 60s when Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra ruled Palm Springs.
My mother-in-law recently cleaned out one of her closets and found my hubby's staff t-shirt from the 1988 Sawdust Festival. He worked security and the front gate. What else happened in 1988?

The bright orangie red hot pokers are almost gone, but don't worry, the purple Pride of Madeira are all starting to bloom! If you really, really like these purple plants, you can go to Funchal, Portugal, in the Madeira region, for an all-day tour (http://www.prideofmadeira.pt/) to see them. Or just come with me on my Heisler Park/Downtown tour.
Whacha doin this afternoon? Go check out Soul Surf's new hang out at 763 S. Coast Hwy from noon - 5pm. Food, drinks, demos and music. Sign up for some surf camps this summer and meet some new friends. For more information, go to www.soulsurfingschool.com.
Do your kids or grandkids have their Easter outfits yet? If not, go to Hillery clothing store on Ocean Avenue in Laguna Beach. Lots of really cute things for boys and girls. Celebrity sighting there a few months back: Martha Stewart! As soon as I heard Martha was in town, I called her people to see if she wanted to go on my walking tour...she was too busy, but maybe next time!
