Zero Trash Laguna

"How come Laguna Beach is so clean?"  I get that all the time on my Laguna Beach Walks walking tours.  Believe me, I have been to many beaches up and down the coast and I have to say, Laguna Beach ranks #1 in my book when it comes to litter-free beach towns.  Let's give it up for all the hard-working employees at the City of Laguna Beach and also to a local non-profit called Zero Trash Laguna.

If you want to help keep Laguna Beach pristine for our locals and visitors, join us the 1st Saturday of every month.  Check out the website for more information:  http://zerotrash.org/laguna/

After all your hard work, go to El Ranchito in Laguna and they will give you 50% off your lunch tab (excludes alcohol).

Again, thanks to the City of Laguna Beach and Chip at Zero Trash Laguna!!!  We love our clean town!

Local Laguna Beach artist, Vanessa Rothe, will be launching her new book, "Still Lifes & Florals" this Saturday from 10am-1pm at the Laguna Art Supply store on Ocean Avenue.  Come meet the author and watch her demonstrate still life painting.
You can purchase Vanessa's book at the event or it is also available at Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com.

For those of you who have not gone on my Laguna Beach Walks tour yet, we pass by Vanessa's studio and she is always more than happy to peek her head out and say hi.  Her studio is constantly brimming with art in progress and/or classes, all the while French music is wafting through the air.  Maybe after you get your book signed, you can wander over to her studio and take a look for yourself.

Parking In Laguna Beach

Have you signed up for the Laguna Beach Walks walking tour and are a little worried about finding parking when you arrive in town?  Laguna Beach has a reputation of slim pickings when it comes to good parking spots in the congested Main Beach area.  Here are a few ideas for
you:
#1 - Free Parking:  If you want free parking, you can find some in the residential neighborhoods.  Drive north of Main Beach to Aster St. and beyond, you will find the
meters end half-way up the block.  You will be able to walk to Heisler Park, Laguna Art Museum, then downtown.  If you go south of Main Beach, there is free parking several blocks inland.  Just have in your mind you will park far and enjoy walking through some
cute cottagy (yes, that’s a word, I Googled it!) neighborhoods to get to the restaurants and shops.
#2 – Metered Parking: If you find a spot in metered parking, you should also go buy a lottery ticket because it is your lucky day!  The meters cost $1-$2 per hour, depending on the location.  Some meters thankfully accept credit cards.  Just remember to park in
between the lines (if your tire is on the line…that means a ticket!) and don’t even be a minute late letting your time run out (that means a ticket!).
#3 – Daily Parking Lots: If I were you, I would forgo your Starbucks coffee for the week, save that money, and use
it at an all-day parking lot.  Google, “Laguna Beach Downtown Parking Guide”for all the lots in
town.  In the summer, you can take the free trolley to your desired destination once you ditch your car.

Hope that helps and looking forward to seeing you on a Laguna Beach Walks walking tour!
