Have you signed up for the Laguna Beach Walks walking tour and are a little worried about finding parking when you arrive in town? Laguna Beach has a reputation of slim pickings when it comes to good parking spots in the congested Main Beach area. Here are a few ideas for
you:
#1 - Free Parking: If you want free parking, you can find some in the residential neighborhoods. Drive north of Main Beach to Aster St. and beyond, you will find the
meters end half-way up the block. You will be able to walk to Heisler Park, Laguna Art Museum, then downtown. If you go south of Main Beach, there is free parking several blocks inland. Just have in your mind you will park far and enjoy walking through some
cute cottagy (yes, that’s a word, I Googled it!) neighborhoods to get to the restaurants and shops.
#2 – Metered Parking: If you find a spot in metered parking, you should also go buy a lottery ticket because it is your lucky day! The meters cost $1-$2 per hour, depending on the location. Some meters thankfully accept credit cards. Just remember to park in
between the lines (if your tire is on the line…that means a ticket!) and don’t even be a minute late letting your time run out (that means a ticket!).
#3 – Daily Parking Lots: If I were you, I would forgo your Starbucks coffee for the week, save that money, and use
it at an all-day parking lot. Google, “Laguna Beach Downtown Parking Guide”for all the lots in
town. In the summer, you can take the free trolley to your desired destination once you ditch your car.
Hope that helps and looking forward to seeing you on a Laguna Beach Walks walking tour!
