Lawn bowling was banned in the 1400s because it was replacing archery, which was important in battle7/2/2014 
Lawn bowling fun fact: History traced back to the 13th century. Couple hundred years after that, it was banned because it was becoming more popular than archery, which was important in battle. Come on my Heisler Park / Downtown Tour to see Laguna's lawn bowling green.
I love how art just rises up from the shrubbery in Laguna Beach. This piece is on my Heisler Park / Downtown Tour. The artist is Jerry Rothman, who recently passed away. RIP Jerry!
