Bette Davis's California English Tudor home in Wood's Cove is another must-see attraction in Laguna Beach. It was built in 1929, is a registered historic structure, and still has the "D" on the chimney. It is located off of Diamond Street at 1991 Ocean Way. In 1957 Bette was scheduled to appear in the Pageant of the Masters, but an injury forced her to cancel last minute.

Actually it used to say "BD"..what remains now is a broken portion of the "B" which is now all that remains and appears as "D"...probably the last initial of the current owner...you can see the faint image of the original "BD" bleached into the bricks. They should have left it as it originally was...more interesting and historic.

Can you tell me more about the builders of the home? It’s my understanding the original owners were Harry and Clemma Woods. I have researched this family prior to their move to Laguna Beach. Any info on the Woods would be appreciated. Thank you
