Just about every day I see Gisberto Bertucci at Main Beach. He is a homeless artist who draws people's portraits on Starbucks coffee lids. I hear the Starbucks in Newport Beach hangs his work on their walls. When you see Gisberto in Laguna Beach, tell him "Ciao"!

I just met Bert on 11/22/13, at the beach at Laguna, he is a jolly old Italian who will take the time to talk with anyone, i asked Bert if he would like to be part of my photography project called 100 Strangers, he was happy that i asked him... he loved the idea, so we took some shots and talked about his homeland... i hope he makes it back there soon... as he has terminal oral cancer... Good Luck to you Bert, i'll never forget you- Tom

We are visiting our family from Manchester, UK and went for lunch at an authentic Italian cafe . Gisberto was sat in the corner seat as he said he does everyday . We chatted for a couple of hours after we noticed he was sketching one of us . He was such a friendly and very interesting man with many stories to tell . He said he played chess with the late Stephen Hawkins - hope that was true . He is definitely a candidate to base a film around . Well he is safe and well in his hamlet Ponti Cosi , high up in the Tuscan mountains.
