North Laguna Walk

Highlights of my walk today:

• Pyne Castle
• Riddle Field aka The Field of Dreams
• Witches House
• St. Clair Beach Cottage

Pyne Castle:

• Norman style estate
• Originally 62 rooms, now an apartment complex
• Mr. Pyne was a piano salesman, found oil on some of his land and became rich
• Took 7 years to build
• Mr. Pyne lived with his mother there
• After his death, his housekeeper inherited the property

Nicknamed "The Witches House" on Wave St.

Riddle Field, aka "The Field of Dreams" little league baseball field.

Aubrey St. Clair was an architect (1889-1968) who lived on Jasmine St. He designed many distinctive buildings in Laguna Beach, including City Hall, the Laguna Beach Water District, and the Greeter's Corner. Tudor was his favorite style.
